Tri-Town Shelter Services Provides a Learning Lab Our clients have access to educational material that will promote personal awareness and growth. The in-house library has books, resources, curriculum, and assessment tools on personal, relational, and academic development. Personal development topics cover such areas as self-awareness, self-esteem, self-talk, self-confidence, and self-management. Relational topics cover such areas as boundaries, safe people, communication, conflict resolution, codependency, and other related issues. Academic resources enable a resident to pinpoint where they are at in several core subjects. Each of these resources are available in order to heal the hurts of the past, promote healthier skills, and to ensure a brighter future. Our clients have access to vocational material that will promote workforce readiness and retention. The in-house library has books, curriculum, and skills assessment tools that enable them to market themselves in the employment sector. There are assessment tools that help a resident to identify their skills, strengths, and areas of growth. There are also tests that help the residents match their skills with the employment sector that best suits them. These tools are linked to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, published by the Dept. Of Labor, which contains useful information on career choices. |
